Abstract: Kala-azar is a rare disease at present which is hard to diagnose in the process of clinical diagnosis.This paper analyzes a case of kala-azar in the diagnostic process.The objective is to discover the role of bone marrow smears and the precautions in the diagnosis of the disease.Check the bone marrow smears of the patients twice.Check the smears carefully to find to the original worm body.Dooley bodies were found and the patients were diagnosed as kala-azar.The patients recovered after treatment.Checking bone marrow smears is one of the powerful methods to diagnose kala-azar and other diseases alike.The smears need checking carefully to find out the worm bodies.Meanwhile,take care to embody a theoretical principle into the clinical practice and be familiar with the detailed medical conditions and history of the patients to support the diagnosis.
